IWY Live respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how IWY Live accesses, uses, processes, and protects information when you use the IWY Live mobile application and related services.

1. About IWY Live

IWY Live is a live audio communication application designed to allow a guide or speaker to transmit voice in real time to authorized listeners connected to the same session.

Users can participate in a session as:

  • Guide – the person transmitting live audio.
  • Listener – the person receiving the guide’s live audio.

IWY Live is designed to provide simple and reliable communication between guides and groups over the internet.

2. Information We Access and Process

IWY Live may access or process the following information when necessary to provide the service.

Microphone

When a user selects Guide mode and starts a live session, IWY Live requests permission to access the device microphone.

The microphone is used only to capture the guide’s voice and transmit it in real time to connected listeners.

IWY Live does not record or permanently store live microphone audio.

Audio is transmitted in real time using WebRTC technology.

Session Information

IWY Live creates temporary session information, which may include:

  • a session code;
  • session status;
  • number of connected listeners;
  • technical connection information;
  • timestamps relating to the session;
  • temporary WebRTC signalling information.

This information is used only to establish, maintain, reconnect, and terminate live communication sessions.

Device and Technical Information

The application may process limited technical information required for the service to operate, including:

  • network connectivity status;
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging token;
  • technical connection identifiers;
  • WebRTC connection information;
  • IP addresses processed by network infrastructure;
  • diagnostic and error information.

This information is used to provide connectivity, notifications, technical operation, security, troubleshooting, and service reliability.

3. Live Audio Transmission

IWY Live uses WebRTC to transmit audio between devices.

When a direct connection between devices is not possible, IWY Live may use a TURN relay server to route the audio connection.

The TURN infrastructure is used only to enable real-time communication.

IWY Live does not use the TURN server to create audio recordings or permanent audio archives.

4. Firebase Services

IWY Live uses services provided by Google Firebase, including:

  • Firebase Core;
  • Cloud Firestore;
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Firebase may process technical information required to provide these services in accordance with Google’s own privacy and security policies.

Cloud Firestore is used to manage temporary session information and WebRTC signalling data.

Firebase Cloud Messaging may be used to provide notifications and technical communication related to the application.

5. How We Use Information

Information processed by IWY Live is used only when necessary to:

  • create and manage live sessions;
  • connect Guides and Listeners;
  • transmit live audio;
  • reconnect users after temporary network interruptions;
  • maintain application security and reliability;
  • diagnose technical problems;
  • provide application notifications;
  • improve the stability and operation of the service.

IWY Live does not sell personal information to advertisers.

IWY Live does not use microphone audio for advertising or profiling.

6. Sharing of Information

IWY Live does not sell users’ personal information.

Technical information may be processed by service providers strictly when required to operate the application, including:

  • Google Firebase;
  • hosting and network infrastructure providers;
  • TURN/WebRTC infrastructure providers operated for IWY Live.

These providers process information only as necessary to provide the relevant technical service.

Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law or a valid legal request.

7. Data Retention

IWY Live aims to retain only the minimum information required to provide and maintain the service.

Live microphone audio is not permanently stored.

Temporary session and signalling information may be retained for a limited period for technical, security, troubleshooting, or service-management purposes and may subsequently be deleted automatically.

Technical logs may be retained for a limited period where necessary for security, diagnosis, or infrastructure maintenance.

8. User Accounts

The current version of IWY Live does not require Listeners to create a personal user account in order to join a live session.

A Listener normally joins a session using a temporary session code provided by the Guide or organization.

If account functionality is introduced in future versions, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

9. Permissions

IWY Live may request permissions necessary for its core functions.

These may include:

  • microphone access;
  • notification permission;
  • network and internet access.

Microphone permission is required only for users operating IWY Live in Guide mode and transmitting live voice.

You can revoke permissions at any time through your device settings.

Revoking a required permission may prevent certain features from functioning.

10. Security

IWY Live uses technical and organizational measures designed to protect information and communications.

These include modern encrypted network connections and WebRTC security mechanisms.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

IWY Live is not specifically designed for children and is intended primarily for professional guides, tourism organizations, groups, and adult users.

Where the service is used by minors as part of an organized group, the responsible organization or supervising adult should ensure that the use complies with applicable law.

12. International Data Processing

Because IWY Live is an internet-based international service, technical information may be processed through infrastructure located in different countries.

Where required, appropriate safeguards are used in accordance with applicable data protection law.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of information;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
